Portal Opens with Global Peace Project
by Judith Pennington
The Mind Mirror Portal opened on June 19, 2020 with a week-long International Coherence Meditation that fulfills its mission as a global consciousness network bringing the Mind Mirror to the world through data analysis and evolutionary guided meditation.
The Project
Global Peaceful Cities Project partnered with The Monroe Institute, the Institute for the Awakened Mind, and the Mind Mirror Portal to invite their communities and the general public to "lift the world from your living room" from June 19-26, 2020. Everyone was welcome to join this event. It was an opportunity for participants to facilitate their own healing and the healing of others at 7 a.m., noon, and 7 p.m. each day "so that we have the presence of mind to have the difficult conversations required for sustainable change," said Bethany Gonyea, director of Peaceful Cities.

"The idea of this experiment was to see whether focused peaceful intention, acquired through guided meditation and Monroe audio technology, facilitates coherence in the meditators, all participants, and possibly in the city of Minneapolis."

June 19, also known as Juneteenth or Freedom Day, is an American holiday that honors the Emancipation Proclamation which freed African-Americans from slavery in 1865.

At noon on June 20 and 26 (EST), participants from across the U.S. and different countries hooked themselves up to the Mind Mirror EEG to measure their brainwave patterns during a 20-minute meditation written by Gonyea. The meditation contains brainwave coherence-inducing audio support composed by Robert Holbrook, innovations director for The Monroe Institute. Listen to the meditation here.

Eight people located in the U.S., France, and India were hooked up to their Mind Mirrors. They connected with the Portal's new Group Monitoring application, which allowed viewers to watch their anonymous brainwave patterns in real time. This remarkably innovative and unprecedented application was created by software genius and Mind Mirror Portal developer Andrew Tang, who networked the participants' brainwaves and then averaged them into a single group pattern.

Andrew worked closely with Bethany to plan the group monitoring and interface with Peaceful Cities and Facebook Live, all of which occurred over an amazingly short 10 days! At the last minute, Andrew added to the Group Monitoring application a series of gauges which depict changes in the averaged brainwave pattern for theta-beta peak performance, alpha-theta meditation, alpha-delta empathy and universal awareness, alpha-gamma superconscious arousal, and coherence to measure left/right brain symmetry.

After the meditation, Institute for the Awakened Mind (IAM) founder Judith Pennington commented on the brainwave changes observed. Judith Pennington is the co-developer and driving force behind the Vilistus Mind Mirror 6, a research-grade electroencephalogram which displays a visual language that anyone can read, understand, and use to adjust their brainwaves to optimal states of awareness.
"The Mind Mirror is the perfect—and only—EEG that measures visually intelligible brainwave changes that everyone can understand. IAM is excited about this collaboration, which is the first of its kind.
The Mind Mirror Portal makes it possible."

Judith and other observers agreed—and the Portal's livestreamed brainwaves and Meditation Viewer visually confirmed—that the dominant brainwave category throughout the meditation was delta. This means that the Mind Mirror-monitored meditators were primarily centered, as hoped, in the unconscious mind's empathy and intuitive/spiritual connection with others.

The meditators' amplification of delta stimulated unexpectedly strong gamma increases seen onscreen. It is not always the case that theta/delta amplifications stimulate gamma, but they did during this meditation. The gauges synthesized the brainwave changes and made them understandable to non-Mind Mirror people. The gauges made it spot the strong theta/delta increases in the averaged group Mind Mirror pattern.
Without a doubt, Bethany's beautifully voiced and artfully conceived meditation went right to the heart of matters during these trying times and opened the hearts and minds of the meditators. We saw their descent into low theta/delta frequencies and their blast up into higher gamma frequencies precisely when her sweet, melodious voice guided them to connect with the heart of justice and the city of Minneapolis.

No doubt, Bob Holbrook's gamma-infused audio technology increased the effectiveness of the meditation. In upcoming trials we'll try to discern the effect of gamma frequencies on the participants' brainwaves.

Thanks to Bethany's beautifully expansive vision of world peace and Andrew's extraordinarily diligent creative work on the Portal software, this event was a magnificent success.
It was a testament to the power and potential of Portal and its mission as a global consciousness network.
We hope to see many more events like this one.

Intentional research by Peaceful Cities and other scientific investigators has proven repeatedly that coherence in the brain and body balances these systems, reduces stress, and facilitates clarity, personal well-being, excellent decision-making, and optimal performance. Over the past several years, Peaceful Cities has conducted experiments with other cities. Objective outcomes are measured by Karin Reinhold, Ph.D., professor of mathematics and statistics at State University of New York at Albany. Watch this webinar to learn more about Global Peaceful Cities Project in detail.
A 2018 Peace Project in Schenectady, New York, demonstrated a 25 percent reduction of violence in the area of focus compared to the rest of the city. The 2019 Albany Peace Project demonstrated a 30 percent reduction in crime in the area of focus compared to the rest of the city.
Global Peaceful Cities Project, sponsored by the non-profit organization NUMINOUS, trains communities on the use of proven intentional meditative techniques to reduce violence and increase peace.
"The project currently includes several pilot cities and schools and will over time reach many more cities across the globe".

Bob Holbrook
For the past 25 years, Bethany Gonyea has taught hundreds of people in private and public biofeedback sessions how to invoke the power of focused healing intention to facilitate health and well-being. Biofeedback is essentially the art and science of intention, and it continually demonstrates through objective instrumentation that our minds have an immediate and profound impact inside our bodies.
Ms. Gonyea understands the mind-body connection intimately, as she explored it to heal herself from a pain disorder so severe it forced a career change in college. She made physical pain her "biofeedback instrument" and used mental focus to diminish her pain levels until she could run four miles a day without pain. In the process, she developed Tan Tien Biofeedback, a unique amalgam of Eastern and Western techniques for healing, pain elimination, and consistent peak performance. She is passionate about teaching others to reduce both their emotional and physical pain levels. She teaches people how to become Intentional Coherence Athletes by training the autonomic nervous system to sustain heightened states of awareness. Years of studying the research on intentional healing led her to implement the Global Peaceful Cities Project.

Andrew Tang
Andrew Tang has been a software entrepreneur for more than 30 years. He embarked on his spiritual journey in 2017, and since then, has become a certified Practitioner of QHHT (Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique), Hypnotherapist (soon to be certified), Awakened Mind Practitioner, and a Reiki Master-Teacher. Andrew constantly expands his knowledge in different healing modalities, including the ACMOS Method, Biogeometry techniques, and Dr. Joe Dispenza's Coherence Healing Method. In addition, Andrew is also keen on learning about and exploring many levels of consciousness by attending workshop programs from The Monroe Institute, including the OBE (Out-Of-Body Experience) Intensive, Gateway Voyage, and Life Line programs. Andrew is passionate in applying his technological skills in areas that promote healing and spiritual development. His latest projects include developing software tools for EEG biofeedback to improve awareness of one's consciousness, and using software and GDV sensors to enhance healing of our energy bodies and our environment. He is the gifted innovator of The Mind Mirror Portal.

Robert Holbrook
Robert, an anthropologist by vocation and musician/music innovator by avocation, has spent years creating audio protocols for the SAM technology, which artistically interweaves layers of supporting frequencies blended harmonically with music and beats.

His audio mixes keep people awake as they descend into 7.83 and 0.4-hertz frequencies. Unlike other systems, they do not cause headaches or adverse effects.
