NEW AWAKENED MIND PRACTITIONER
Robin Bernhard
The Institute for the Awakened Mind is delighted to announce the certification of Robin Bernhard as an Awakened Mind Consciousness Trainer. Robin brings to IAM a compassionate heart, keen mind for innovation and research, and a lifetime of expertise on how to heal and reorganize the brain and consciousness.
Born in Washington, D.C., and now based in Charlottesville, Virginia, Robin is co-founder of the Virginia Center for Neurofeedback. She was graduated from Hollins College in biology, worked as a neurophysiology lab tech at Washington and Lee University, and received a master's degree in education from William and Mary College, followed by a master's degree in social work with a specialization in child mental health from Virginia Commonwealth University.
In 1987, Robin began her professional career as a school social worker and developed a program at Hospice of Western New York to help small children face the death of a parent. While working for 12 years as a psychotherapist in Chautauqua, New York, she gradually became interested in the newest methods for treating PTSD.

In her private practice in Charlottesville, she has specialized in helping people with trauma and attachment disorders since 2001. She utilizes EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Processing); LENS, a form of neuromodulation that releases the effect of stress on the brain, and, neurofeedback, in which she was certified by BCIA in 2013. At the other end of the spectrum, Robin offers neurofeedback training for creativity and performance enhancement. She was certified as an Awakened Mind Consciousness Trainer by Judith Pennington in January 2017.

Robin uses the Mind Mirror in her psychotherapy practice. She comments, "The Mind Mirror is a wonderful tool to allow people to enter, sense, and understand their inner states of consciousness, as well as to explore subconscious material for psychological and personal mastery."

These two studies are permanently posted on the IAM website under Research/Mind Mirror Studies
